The Tiny Curator: Mini Museum Shadow Box (Ages 12+)

Create an entire art museum—in miniature!

Become the curator of your own tiny gallery as you transform a shadow box into a wonderfully imaginative miniature museum. Choose from ornate mini frames, tiny artwork, decorative backgrounds, miniature visitors and other curious details to create an exhibit that tells a story all its own.

Arrange, layer and display your miniature collection in any style you imagine. Design a traditional art gallery, an enchanted botanical museum, a collection of unusual treasures or something completely unexpected.

Every museum will be different, and every tiny detail is yours to choose. When finished, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind, display-ready shadow box that is sure to become a conversation piece.

No previous art experience is needed. Your shadow box and all art materials are included, although you’re welcome to bring personal photographs, miniature images or lightweight artifacts to incorporate into your creation.

This project is available during Open Studio and can be enjoyed at your own pace. Reserve an arrival time online so your materials can be prepared, or ask about availability when you visit.
