Bring your travel memories out of your camera roll and into a beautiful, dimensional shadow box that tells the story of a special place, memorable trip or dream destination.

Arrange and layer photographs, maps, ticket stubs, postcards, paper keepsakes, travel words, decorative images and dimensional embellishments to create a personalized collage filled with meaning and visual interest. Take your time experimenting with the composition, coordinating colors and building layers before securing everything in place.

Focus on one unforgettable trip, combine memories from several adventures or create a dream-travel piece celebrating places you hope to visit someday. Every shadow box will be completely personal and uniquely yours.

Violet’s Crayon provides the shadow box frame along with a curated assortment of vintage-inspired papers, map pieces, travel imagery, die cuts, lettering, stickers, trims, adhesives and whimsical embellishments.

This project is available during Open Studio and is designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Reserve an Open Studio arrival time online so your shadow box and materials can be prepared, or ask about availability when you visit.

What to bring

Bringing personal materials is optional, but encouraged. Consider bringing:

• Printed photographs
• Ticket stubs or boarding passes
• Postcards
• Maps or brochures
• Receipts, labels, or small paper souvenirs
• Lightweight, flat keepsakes that can be safely attached

Please bring copies rather than irreplaceable originals whenever possible, as materials may be trimmed, folded, or permanently adhered.

Each registration includes one shadow box and all additional art materials.
